acne cure. Doctor's advice.














Hey everyone, back to the story of acne. It has been 5 years now since my face is cleared of cystic acne. I am going to share with you the tips. Unfortunately this only will be helpful for woman.
The reason is because the medicine that I am going to talk about inhibits the male hormones. Therefore its not recommended for males.
The drug I am talking about Spironolactone. First of all let me explain to you about this medicine.
Spironolactone is a diuretic and it has many uses. I don't wish to go further on its medical uses. So let me talk about how it works on acne for woman. Cystic acne is caused by PCOS or high aldosterone levels. This medication helps to reduce aldosterone levels. Aldosterone is a male hormone so therefore its useless for woman. High levels of Aldosterone causes acne, PCOS and hirsutism in woman.

How to take Spironolactone.

 Well its easy and I had no side effects. The dose I took was 50 mg in the morning and 50 mg at night.
I took it after food. It took 2 months to see improvement. The first 3 weeks made me break out badly. But then it started helping. I swear on this drug as I have acne clear skin now and you can see the difference from 2010.
You have to be cautious while being on this medications. I don't drink alcohol so therefore i didn't worry about anything. But if you have questions don't hesitate to comment below and I will help you further.

When did I stop Spironolactone?

 I stopped Spironolactone in 2016. My face was cleared and acne didn't come back. I was sure by then that my acne was caused by hormones.

Hello everyone, I think I am coming back after 9 years. A lot has changed. I am already a qualified doctor, working almost 3 years now in Ireland.
